What do you value most in your client relationships?

I love meeting new clients, hearing their stories, and learning about what they value most in life. Trust and forthright communication are important factors in every relationship, especially between an advisor and client.  I do my best to meet my clients where they are, guide them through often complex investment concepts, and leave them with a better understanding and confidence in how we will work together to achieve their goals.

What sparked your interest in financial planning? What fuels you every day in your work?

In college, I actually wanted to be a doctor. I was halfway through my Pre-Med undergraduate program when I realized that this wasn’t the right path for me. I was struggling to figure out what I did want to do, and was lucky enough to have my family’s financial advisor reach out to me to introduce himself. He ended up becoming an incredible mentor to me throughout college and taught me about investing and the financial markets. I developed a passion for investments, changed my major, and decided to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation to hone my investment skills.

Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?

I have bounced around a decent amount. I was born in Massachusetts and grew to be an avid Boston sports fan. My family relocated to Colorado just before I started in high school, and I lived there for almost 10 years. My wife and I moved back to Boston after college, and then ultimately fled south to North Carolina. We now live in Charlotte and love the warm weather, southern hospitality, and year-round golf. We couldn’t be happier to have landed where we did.

When you’re not working you’re…?

Hopefully on the golf course! Playing golf has been a hobby of mine since I was a kid. I love the challenge and the fact that there is always an aspect of the game to improve on. I played for my high school team and college club team and have made a lot of friends on the golf course. My wife has caught the itch in recent years as well and it’s been a lot of fun to see her game improve.
