Modera Takes to the Green for a Good Cause

Dawson FieldingZachary PalmerMelissa Boyer, and Karen Keatley of Modera’s Charlotte Office took to the green for a charity outing, the 2020 Rollin’ Hornets Golf Classic. The proceeds help pay for the many travel and equipment expenses incurred throughout the Charlotte Rollin’ Hornets Wheelchair Basketball season. The scorecards may not have been bragworthy, but we had a great time supporting this great cause. Our hearts are full! What sparked your interest in financial planning? What fuels you every day in your work?

Financial planning is not a static career. Rules change, relationships develop, and strategies improve. I look forward to a lifetime of learning and educating.

When you retire, you’re going to…?

“Out where the handclasp’s a little stronger, out where the smile dwells a little longer.” The West – to buy a ranch on a river, or a lake house with my childhood best friends.

Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?

I grew up in a small town in Southern Maryland on the Patuxent River where I grew to love being outdoors and on the water. Most places of significance were at least forty minutes away. I now live in Charlotte, NC (Dilworth) where my commute to work is a mere six minutes.

What’s the best career advice you ever got?

Be hard on yourself and supportive of others.
