Savas Constantinou‘s local chapter, AHEPA 517, started their own 501c (3) organization called AHEPA Service Dogs for Warriors which raises money to train rescue dogs to give to US Veterans to help prevent Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and prevent suicide. This organization was modeled after the nationally recognized organization, Canines for Warriors. The initiative was so popular locally that it was adopted by the national AHEPA organization with more than 400 chapters nationwide. Since the organization, AHEPA Service Dogs for Warriors was formed in 2017, the organization trained 64 Dogs and raised over $840,000 through AHEPA, affiliated organization and individuals nationwide.
